AIDS Coalition Becomes AIDS Leadership Center

SAN JOSE, CA---Silicon Valley AIDS Leadership Center will be the new name of AIDS Coalition Silicon Valley, a local nonprofit founded in 1989. This change follows a strategic planning process by the organization’s board of directors and staff in an effort to select a name which better reflects the mission and purpose of the agency.

“We are thrilled to take on a much larger role in HIV/AIDS leadership, prevention, education and advocacy in the community,” commented Dane Dugan, the Center’s executive director. “This pandemic is impacting the lives of many individuals in Silicon Valley and there still is no cure. It is imperative that we increase awareness to slow the rising rate of new infections and expand fundraising efforts for programs and services for people who already have the virus.”

The Silicon Valley AIDS Leadership Center is dedicated to leading the fight, united with our communities, to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS and enhance the lives of affected person. This mission is fulfilled through prevention and educational programming, grants for HIV/AIDS services in the community and serving as a central voice and advocate for the pandemic in the Silicon Valley region.
